The Ocean

Beyond our stories there is only sea

I always wondered of myself,

What is the oneness in my personality?

I see myself as a broken cork floating in the sea,

Fantasizing stories about myself,

Connecting bits, framing a red thread, to make me me.

My stories work so hard, to keep me one,

But it’s all projections.

This me is only my fantasy.

Thus it is with you.

You are many things.

But only stories make it one.

When we meet, we only speak imagination,

The deeper connection we cannot see.

We try to make our meeting a thing, using those stories,

The ones we use to explain what makes me me.

But the deeper connection that makes us we,

Is not our stories, our broken bits, our fantasy,

It’s the realization, we are already connected.

There is no you or me.

We are the sea.
