The Journey of Building a Fashion Brand

Welcome to our blog!

We are two Russian expats living in Montreal who want to build our own fashion brand. We come from very different backgrounds and it presents a lot of positive challenges in our work. We’ve been learning so much from each other, that we decided to share this experience with you, our audience. First, let us introduce ourselves.

Anastasia Artemova — a tech junkie who is currently working in a fintech industry building innovative software products. She has always been part of startups challenging the way people think and create through product management. Having been part of multiple startups, living through growth, challenges and bankruptcies, Anastasia has finally decided to submerge into the world of building her own business. Fashion accessories will be her new challenge in realm of product management.

Anastasia’s strengths include technology, product management, software development, corporate strategy, marketing, UX & design.

Alesya Kornetskaya — a creative soul with a degree in fashion design and a slew of Canadian national photography awards. She has always brought a part of her creative self into every interaction she ever had at work or in personal life. Having been part of the fashion industry in companies big and small in various roles, Alesya has collected the expertise she needs to start her own fashion brand. Fashion accessories is her new obsession, as she believes that accessories can turn any look into a work of art.

Alesya’s strengths include fashion design, photography, research, conception, strategy, pattern making, technical production.

This blog will be our field notebook where we record our research, experiences and outcomes of some of our meeting sessions. Some of the material will be extremely raw, while some material will resemble a mini-research paper :)

We would also like to share how it is for two friends to become business partners. It is no secret that we are stepping on a risky soil that can damage our friendship. However, we both are committed to the journey of building a successful business, getting to know each other better and most importantly, respecting our differences.

It happens that both of us enjoy research and future trends. Our hobby is learning more about where this world is as well as where we are going to as a humanity. There is so much fascinating discoveries that we make on a daily basis, that it became impossible not to share them with the world!

Our idea is to build a fashion accessories brand to become the pioneers of futurism expressed through fashion.
