The day they met!

It was almost 1 am when she could hear her heartbeat so loud. She was striving very hard to get a nap at least for few hours, however, it appeared as it was an unattainable task to her. After some…

Yesterday Was The Start Of A New Era

It Will Only Get Better From Now On

There are infinite ways to win this amazing game of life.

But there’s one guaranteed way to lose.

And that is by cheating.

We talked about that and more in the 30th episode of the ‘On the Rise Show’:

My favourite quote of the show is:

The universe always knows.

It’s the number one change I made over the years.

I’ve always wanted to win every game I entered. I was obsessed with winning.

That hasn’t changed. I still love to win.

But now, I play by the rules.

That was not always the case, to put it mildly.

My mom still tells stories of how I cheated in every game with my younger sister.

Every single game.

Well, as long as I could get away with it, that is.

Because for two fantastic years, I could read and she couldn’t. It didn’t take me long to figure out I couldn’t lose.

The rules constantly changed as needed. And they magically always helped me and hurt her.

Every time my sister objected, I pointed to the rulebook. It was the impartial referee and I couldn’t help that it always favoured me.

Right?

It’s the same trick ‘investment’ banks pulled on the people in the aftermath of the financial crisis of ‘08.

Except that you would have expected the people to be smarter than a four year old.

But they weren’t.

But if you start playing fair, something magical happens.

Because soon you’ll realize that there’s absolutely no need to cheat. The competition is lousy anyway.

How many people are willing to write every day? And how many people are willing to do that for a year?

The answer to those questions tells you everything you need.

Most people are lazy and short-term oriented.

Almost nobody wants to put in the effort and think on a longer time-frame.

If you’re willing to do those two things, you’ll simply run out of competitors after a while.

You’ll be alone in the arena, kicking ball after ball in the empty net.

So if you’re playing without competitors, why would you even cheat?

Cheating doesn’t make sense.

And there’s an even deeper reason not to cheat.

Because it only hurts yourself. Cheating turns you into a cheater.

Even if nobody notices your cheating, even if you technically get away with it, you still know what you did.

The Universe knows.

And it never forgets, unlike most people.

You’ll always get the bill for cheating. That’s simply inevitable.

And it’s a bill you’re not going to be able to pay.

You want to be able to look at yourself in the mirror every day. That’s the most important thing.

Because that person looking back at you will always be there. He knows everything you’ve ever done and he’s your worst critic.

Next time you’re about to smoke that cigarette, think about that. You might think that nobody’s watching but you’re wrong.

Because you are watching.

And you’ll remember it forever.

There was a time that cheating was allowed.

Cheating was even mandatory for a while.

All of that changed yesterday.

That day, June 21st 2018, truly marks the beginning of a new era. That date will feature in all future history books.

A new era of enlightenment has officially began.

It’s time to play by the rules.
